Where It Started

The company began in a repurposed storage unit in Birmingham. Two colleagues—both camera operators with over a decade in live television—noticed something odd: independent content creators were struggling to access the same quality gear that broadcast facilities took for granted.

Podcasting was growing rapidly, yet most rental houses catered to film productions with day rates that made no sense for a weekly audio show. Creators either overpaid for cinema-grade equipment they did not need or settled for consumer gear that compromised their output.

We saw a gap and decided to fill it. Our initial inventory fit on three shelving units—microphones, a few audio interfaces, basic lighting kits. Word spread through podcast communities, and within eighteen months, we had outgrown that first space twice over.

Our Founding Principle

Professional results should not require a broadcast budget. Every creator, regardless of audience size, deserves access to reliable, well-maintained equipment suited to their actual needs.

What Guides Our Work

Core principles that shape every equipment recommendation and service delivery

Practical Expertise

We have operated this equipment professionally. Recommendations come from real experience, not spec sheets or marketing claims.

Honest Assessment

We will tell you if lower-cost gear meets your needs. Upselling equipment you will not fully use helps no one long term.

Responsive Support

Equipment issues do not wait for business hours. Our support channels prioritise speed because your production schedule depends on it.

Rigorous Maintenance

Every item is inspected, cleaned, and tested between rentals. Preventive servicing catches problems before they affect your shoot.

How We Approach Equipment Selection

Not everything on the market deserves a place in our inventory. We evaluate gear across multiple criteria before stocking it:

1

Build Quality

Will it survive regular transport and varied handling? Rental equipment endures conditions most personal gear never faces.

2

Performance Consistency

Does it deliver the same results shoot after shoot? Some gear degrades unpredictably. We avoid those products.

3

Serviceability

Can we repair it efficiently? Products with sealed components or limited parts availability become liabilities in a rental context.

4

Value Alignment

Does the price-to-performance ratio make sense for our clients? Premium does not always mean better for every application.

"We test everything ourselves before it reaches a client. If it frustrates us, it will frustrate them."
— David Mitchell, Co-Founder

Equipment Refresh Cycle

We rotate inventory on a three-year cycle for heavily used items. Older equipment is either sold at reduced prices or donated to educational programmes training the next generation of content creators.

Sustainability Commitment

Responsible practices across our equipment lifecycle

Extended Product Life

Proper maintenance extends usable lifespan significantly. Equipment that might be discarded after two years often serves clients well for five or more in our care.

Rental Over Purchase

Renting reduces overall production. Fewer individual units are manufactured when equipment is shared efficiently across multiple projects and users.

Responsible Disposal

End-of-life equipment is processed through certified e-waste handlers. Functional items are refurbished and donated rather than discarded.
